Research
The MVD group’s research focuses on advancing sustainable technologies in the design of machines and vehicles.
Key areas include the development of zero-emission powertrains, the exploration of green fuels, and the integration of digital tools in vehicle and machine design processes. The group employs advanced physics-based simulations to enhance the durability, thermal management, and dynamics of machines and vehicles, ensuring they meet modern sustainability standards.
MVD engages in a variety of projects, many in collaboration with its industry partners. These projects range from the development of hybrid and fully electric powertrains to the application of AI in vehicle design. A notable aspect of their work is the practical implementation of research findings, such as optimizing vehicle dynamics or improving energy efficiency through the use of green fuels. The projects often involve interdisciplinary collaboration and aim to produce tangible benefits for industry partners and society at large. For more information, see the Funding and Grants section.
MVD’s research outputs are regularly published in prestigious academic journals and conferences, contributing significantly to the fields of mechanical engineering, vehicle design, and sustainability. These publications cover a wide range of topics, from the latest advances in zero-emission vehicle technologies to innovative applications of digital tools in machine design. By disseminating their findings, MVD not only advances academic knowledge but also provides valuable insights for industry practitioners.
